Welcome aboard USS McCAMPBELL (DDG 85), the Navy’s finest and most powerful warship. This is the first ship named for the Navy’s top fighter pilot and leading Navy “Ace” of all time, Captain David McCAMPBELL, awarded the Medal of Honor, Navy Cross, Silver Star, Legion of Merit, and Distinguished Flying Cross during World War II.
Like its namesake, McCAMPBELL epitomizes three precepts fundamental to the shared sacrifices our citizenship demands: TRUST, FAITH, and CONFIDENCE.
